Serious Game Judges
The Fun & Serious Game Festival judges, from various disciplines and cultural backgrounds, will be renowned video games professionals from Spain and Europe, and from USA.
They will represent all the fields in the video game industry, from artist and developer training to expert knowledge. There will be trainers, specialists, journalists, consultants, and developers.
Samir Abou-Samra
In addition to serving as CTO of DigiPen Corporation USA, Director of the RTIS programme, and Chair of the Computer Science Department at DigiPen Institute of Technology, Samra is also the simulation project director at Boeing. His work with Boeing involves graphic simulation, artificial intelligence, human interactive virtual environments, and human behavioural descriptive language. He was the Vice President of Operations at Nintendo Software Incorporated, Canada .Boeing gave him an award for solving a crucial problem in aircraft computer systems and named DigiPen 2008 Supplier of the Year under Abou-Samra’s leadership of the Development Division.
Sue Bohle
Executive Director of the Serious Game Association and founder of The Bohle Company in Santa Monica, California.Sue has been the lead speaker on public relations for the game industry at numerous industry conferences. Having served the sector for 25 years, she has been named one of the 100 Top Women in the Game Industry. She helped Atari and Sesame Street introduce the first games for preschoolers.
Julio Álvarez
Julio Alvarez (Chile , 1970) is the head of the eHealth Business Unit in VirtualWare Group. He is a marketing specialist with over 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. He was product manager and marketing manager in biotech companies like Biogen Idec and big pharmas like Bayer Schering Pharma , promoting biotech products for chronic diseases in the neurology field.

Ruth Martínez
Ruth Martínez specialises in creative processes and learning activity design in immersive environments and recreational contexts.
She in an R&D evaluator for the European Commission (IST), a working group member at the Spanish E-Learning Technical Standardisation Committee AEN/CTN 66/SC 1/GT 15 ‘E-Learning Quality', and the author of Mundosvirtuales 3D: unaguíapara padres y formadores . She is also a contributor to general and specialist publications and has a blog at elearning3d.es.
In addition, Ms Martínez is a professor and lecturer, and a consultant in education and innovation, emerging technologies applied to learning, education and serious games, and learning analytics and metrics.
